TRANSFER CALM

The Weirdest Thing...

A few years ago, I was at an airport when I saw a little boy, perhaps four years old, crying very hard.

This wasn't the ordinary crying you hear when a child is tired, frustrated or doesn't get what he wants.

He seemed genuinely distressed.

I didn't know him or his parents. There was nothing I could do physically to help him.

So I tried something else.

I closed my eyes, opened my heart, and quietly spoke an intention:

“Please send love and healing to this child.”

I wasn't asking to control him or force anything to happen.

I was simply asking for help.

And within seconds, the boy became quiet.

I think he actually fell asleep.

His parents looked relieved, and I remember seeing him clinging to his mother.

Was it because of what I had done?

I don't know.

It could have been a coincidence.

But I've tried this kind of thing many times since then.

I've probably done it around ten times, and so far, it has never not worked.

That's my experience.

I'm not saying this proves that sending an intention caused the change. There could be other explanations.

But after seeing it happen repeatedly, I became curious about something:

Could a mother do this for her own child?

You can try this yourself

If your child is upset, frightened, in pain, having trouble sleeping, or simply going through something difficult, you can try a very simple exercise.

You don't need special training.

You don't need to know how healing works.

And you don't even have to believe that this is possible.

Just try it as an experiment.

1. Pause

If possible, take a moment to become calm yourself.

Take a few slow breaths.

You don't need to create a special meditation.

Just stop for a moment.

2. Think about your child

Bring your child to mind.

If they are right in front of you, you can simply look at them.

If they're somewhere else, picture them.

Feel your love for them.

You already know how powerful that feeling can be.

3. Open your heart

This doesn't have to mean anything complicated.

Simply allow yourself to feel love toward your child.

You might imagine that love surrounding them.

4. Speak your intention out loud

This is the part I find especially interesting.

Don't just think the words.

Say them.

You can whisper if your child is sleeping.

You could say something as simple as:

“Please send love and healing to my child.”

Or:

“Please give my child whatever help, healing and support they need right now.”

You can use your own words.

You could say:

“Please help my child feel safe, calm and well.”

The exact words aren't important.

What matters is the intention behind them.

Why speak it?

This is something I've become fascinated by through years of experimenting with spoken intentions.

There seems to be something different about speaking an intention compared with merely thinking it.

When you speak, you hear yourself asking.

Your body gets involved.

Your attention becomes focused.

And, if you believe there is some kind of intelligence or loving force beyond us, you're also making the request very clear.

But again, you don't have to believe any of that.

Try it and observe.

That's what I do.

Don't make this a substitute for real help

There is one thing I want to make absolutely clear.

If your child is seriously ill, injured, in danger, or needs medical attention, get appropriate professional help.

This is not about replacing doctors or ignoring something that needs treatment.

Think of this as something you can do alongside everything else.

You can call the doctor.

You can comfort your child.

You can hold their hand.

And you can speak your intention.

It costs nothing.

It takes seconds.

And you're doing something that comes very naturally to a mother:

you are asking for help for your child.

What if it doesn't work?

That's possible.

I can't promise you that your child will suddenly feel better.

My own experience has been remarkably consistent, but ten experiences are not scientific proof.

So don't take my word for it.

Try it.

Observe what happens.

And don't feel guilty if nothing changes.

You haven't failed.

You're simply experimenting with something we don't fully understand.

But if it does seem to help?

Then you may have discovered something very simple that you can do whenever your child needs a little extra support.

Close your eyes.

Open your heart.

Speak.

Ask for help.

And then let go.

**Maybe something happens.

Maybe it doesn't.

But you can always try.**
